• He was a soldier from his age of 13.

• He was 22 when the Civil War started

• He was the most famous cavalier of the whole war

• Why Royalists loved him?

• Because he was brave and fearless. He showed his brilliance by supporting the king. His best friend was a dog called ‘Boy’. It followed him even in the battle.

• Royalists lovingly called him ‘Mad Cavalier’

• But the Roundheads hated him.
