A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expressions are predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person.

In a symmetrical face, the left and right sides look like each other. They're not perfect mirror images. But our eyes read faces with similar proportions on both sides as symmetrical.

Proportion is the relationship in terms of size between one shape or form when compared with another shape or form. If the forms and shapes are not in the right proportion, it will distort the harmony and balance of an artwork.
