It helps you to learn better,provides energy for daily activities, increases concentration, and improves memory.
It helps you to maintain a healthy body weight.
It helps your body to fight against germs and other bacteria.
The Need for a Balanced Diet
Your diet or the kinds of food that you eat affects how healthy your body is. You should eat the right amount of different nutrients for the body to be healthy. A diet that contains all the nutrients in the required amounts is called a balanced diet. A balanced diet should also contain water and roughage.

Dependency of a diet based on your age
The diet you should have depends on your age and how active you are.
A growing child like you needs a diet that is rich in carbohydrates(for energy) and proteins(for the proper growth of your body).
An active person like a sportsperson or a construction worker needs more carbohydrates.
A person who is not active should have fewer carbohydrates and fats.
Older people do not need as many carbohydrates or proteins as a growing child does.

Junk Food
Pizzas, burgers, fries, chips, candy, chocolates, ice cream, cola, and sweets do not have all the nutrients that your body needs. These processed foods are called junk foods and are high in sugar, salt, simple carbohydrates, and fats.

Adverse effects of eating junk food
Eating junk food regularly can:
affect your growth
lead to deficiency diseases
lead to weight gain
make you less alert and affect your studies
affect digestion
