What's the second step in the scientific method?
Analysis
Experiment
Background Research
Hypothesis
5
The first step of the scientific method is making an observation and ask a question based off that observation
The entire reason scientific inquiry ever happens is by first observing a phenomenon in nature and questioning why it exists in this particular manner
--Observations can be made in any environment. For anything that can be seen but can't automatically be explained, we then need...
Some text here about the topic of discussion
---Questioning the meaning of something is the very framework of how science is done
6
The second step of the process is to do background research on the question at hand
Background research is essential to gain a greater understanding of the question and other studies that have been done on this question or a similar one.
7
Experiment
Now it's time to formulate and conduct an experiment
Formulating and conducting an experiment is the very basis of science. It allows the scientist(s) to see what is going on with the phenomenon they were looking at
8
The fifth step is to now collect the data that the experiment has given
To do this, you must record the results of the experiment by writing them down
Some text here about the topic of discussion
9
The sixth step is to analyze the data that you recorded from the experiment
In order to do this one must consider causation and correlation when creating graphs and different systems of measurement to define what truly happened in the experiment
10
The last step is to compare the results with your original hypothesis, communicate them with other scientists, and repeat the experiment
If the hypothesis is wrong, reformulate it and go through the process again, if it's right, repeat it
Repeating the experiment as many times as the scientist(s) can will diminish the margin of error, making the result as close as possible to the actual answer to the original question posed.
11
The next step is to construct a hypothesis
Some text here about the topic of discussion
This is important because it's the prediction made by the scientist(s) that's going to conduct the study that will either be proved right or wrong by the...
