Financial Clearance is one of the primary responsibilities of an SSC. Ultimately, all of the financial work we do on a student's account ​should lead to clearance.

Remember:

Better clearance helps prevent AR balances!

Review the Ledger to make sure all charges are posted and accurate

Review the awards to make sure all financial aid (scholarships, Title IV, etc.) have been awarded

The remaining balance is what the student will still owe

Ensure the student has paid the balance, signed up for a payment plan, or is awarded enough financial aid to cover the total amount
