  • Executive - ​President, Vice-President, Cabinet

  • Legislative - Called Congress, Senate and House of Representatives​

  • Judicial - Supreme Court​ and lower courts

No branch has too much power​

Resides in the White House

  • ​President - head of the Executive branch

  • Serves a 4 year term - can serve 2 terms

  • ​Cabinet - Advisors to the President

  • ​Veto - Rejects bills by congress

President - Joe Biden; Vice President - Kamala Harris​

Legislative Branch

Called Congress

  • House of Representatives - Serves 2 year terms​, 435 in all, depends on size of state.

  • Senate - Serves 6 year terms, 100 total, 2 in each state.​

  • Write laws, control the budget, declare war​

  • Interpret laws.

  • Can serve for life

  • Head of court is called Chief Justice​
