Why do we use pemdas? PEMDAS is an acronym used to remind people of the order of operations. This means that you don't just solve math problems from left to right, rather, you solve them in a predetermined order that's given to you from the acronym PEMDAS.​

If you're still a bit confused listen closely.

The first thing I did was add 3+1, I did that because 3+1 was in parenthesis and as you should know by now we always do parenthesis first. We all know 3+1=4, since we saw that their is a x4 next to it we have to.... that's right​! We now do 4x4 = 16!
