Verses are measured by syllables. It sets the limit of how many words and also may set cadence. You may know Cinquain and Haiku as forms of Meter.

This is a very important term for you. This is the way you write poetry in a natural and unmeasured manner. You can still add elements of poetry such as figurative language and rhyme. It is best to use when writing non-fiction.

  1. The best way it to make ends of verses have the same sound.

  2. In English, they may sound alike but not correspond grammatically.

  3. In Spanish, every syllable always has the same sound.

  4. You may organize it in different ways.

La Rima

"Rhyme is a literary device, featured particularly in poetry, in which identical or similar concluding syllables in different words are repeated.

Rhyme most often occurs at the ends of poetic lines. Writers use rhymes as a way to create sound patterns in order to emphasize certain words and their relationships with others in an artistic manner."
