Abstract vs. Introduction​

​An abstract is similar to a summary except that it is more concise and direct.

The introduction section of your paper is more detailed. It states why you conducted your study, what you wanted to accomplish, and what is your hypothesis.

Data vs. Results​

​Data refers to the actual numbers or other information you obtained in your project. Data can be presented in tables or charts, if appropriate. The results section is where the data is manipulated or the hypothesis is tested.
