Actual affect is below the water.

Actual affect is much bigger and

maybe unseen​ or not understood.

Example: DDT is so much more dangerous and damaging than scientist realized.

Biomagnification

​-the process by which a compound (such as a pollutant or pesticide) increases its concentration in the tissues of organisms as it travels up the food chain​

Example: Eagle that eats lots of mice and lizards that have eaten lots of bugs that have eaten lots of a toxic chemical.​

​The eagle will have the most toxins.
