Verbs are words that show an action. For now this is the most simple meaning of verb.

Nouns:

Person, place or thing.

A noun is a word that refers to a thing (car), a person (Mrs. DeeDee), an animal (cat), or a place (Louisiana)​.

A noun in a sentence can be a person, or a thing like a shirt.

The man had on a red shirt.​

A noun can be a place in a sentence.

I like to walk in the woods.​

Place

In a sentence, a noun can be a thing.

I like to play with my toys.​

Thing

Verbs

Action: doing something!

In a sentence, the verb is what is being done!

I walk in the woods.​

the word WALK is the verb here.​

Verbs can be NOW, or happened in the PAST, or in the FUTURE.​

​I read my book yesterday.
