What are squared measurements?

Squared measurements are calculated by multiplying a number by itself. E.g 3 squared = 3 x 3 (9).

When we use this, we can apply it to measurement units. An example being 5cm x 5cm = 25cm squared

Some text here about the topic of discussion

When we add Squared values together, we must first find their individual values before adding them together.

Example: 3mm squared + 4mm squared.

3mm squared = 9mm

4mm squared = 16mm

9mm +16mm = 25mm

3mm squared + 4mm squared = 25mm

If we our knowledge of squared measurements, we can find area.

When looking for area, we need to remember the formula: Length x Width = Area squared

For example, the because the length and width of this shape is the same, the formula would look like this.

5 x 5 = 25 squared

We can use squared measurements to find area
