What are page borders used for?

  • Page borders are generally used as decorations or outlines for documents.

  • On the ribbon, select the "design" tab.

  • ​In the "page background" section, select "page borders."

  • ​A dialogue box will open. Under the "settings" section of the dialogue box, select the "box" option.

  • ​Under the "style" section of the dialogue box, select the pattern style for your border..

  • ​Select your border's color under the "color" section.

How to add a border ​

  • Under the "width" section, select the size that you want your border to be.

  • ​If you would like to add a decorative border, select the "art" section and choose the art design you would like for your borders.

  • ​Under the "apply to" section of the dialogue box, select what section of the document you would like the border to appear.

  • When you are done, select "ok" to apply the border design to your document.​
