• In multiplication we know how to multiply a one, two or three-digit number by another 1 or 2-digit number. We also know how to multiply a four-digit number by a 2-digit number. We also know the different methods of multiplication.

• ​Multiplication is shown by the sign 'X'

• The result of the multiplication is called the product.​

• In multiplication, if we change the order of the numbers to be multiplied, the product remain the same

• If three or more numbers are multiplied in any order, the product remains the same.

• The product of any number and 1 is the number itself.

• The product of any number and '0' is zero.

​Multiplication Properties

​When the value of one object is given and the value of more than 1 object is asked, we need to multiply the value of 1 object with the number of objects

​Question.

There are 6 wheels in a bus. How many wheels will be there in 235 such buses?

Answer​

Number of wheels in a bus = 6

Number of wheels in 235 buses = 235 x 6 = 1410

Hence, 235 buses will have 1410 wheels​
