**We use the Conditional Tense a lot! It is necessary to become familiar with it!

We call it the "Conditional Tense" because "Condition A" must happen BEFORE
"Action B" can happen.

Let's look at some different forms of the Conditional Tense...

Conditional Tense 1
If + simple present, simple future.
If "Condition A" happens, "Action B" will happen.
Examples:
If you practice piano, you will get better at playing it.
If you do not hurry, you will miss the train.
You will not do well on the exam if you sleep in class.
--> We use this form when we want to talk about the present or future when Condition A is true, and Action B is the likely/probable result.

"Action B" would/could happen.
Examples:
If students didn't have school on Saturdays, they would have more time to rest.
If more men took paternity leave, they could help take care of their children.
If I spoke Italian, I could be working in Italy.
I would study for the exam if I were you.
--> We use this form when we want to talk about a hypothetical (架空) situation. What COULD/WOULD happen if it were true?
