Digital clocks shows you the time by writing the numbers out.
Digital Clock
To tell the time on analog clocks, you have to READ THE HANDS correctly.
Analog Clock

Between 12 O'clock and 1 O'clock, we have sixty minutes.
This is always true between any hour and the next hour.

We know O'clock when the long hand (minute hand) is on 12.
Long Hand on 12
Short Hand on 12
= Twelve O'Clock
The time is 12 O'Clock

We know O'clock when the long hand (minute hand) is on 12.

= 4 O'Clock

Long Hand on 1. Count every dot from 12 and you get 5 dots = 5 minutes
The long hand is on the right side of 12. That is PAST
Short Hand is on 6.
So, the hour is 6.
The time is 6:05 or
5 Minutes past 6.

Long Hand on 4. Count every dot from 12 and you get 20 dots = 20 minutes
Short Hand is between 2 and 3.
So, the smaller number is the hour.
The time is 2:20
20 Minutes past 2.

The time is 1:05
5 Minutes past 1.
Long Hand on 1. Count every dot from 12 and you get 5 dots = 5 minutes
The long hand is on the right side of 12. That is PAST
Short Hand is also on 1.
So, the hour is 1.

The time is 3:15
15 Minutes past 3.
= Quarter past 3
Long Hand on 3. Count every dot from 12 and you get 15 dots = 15 minutes
Short Hand is between 3 and 4.
So, we choose 3 for the hour (smaller number).
