A web browser is a computer program or application that allows us to read pages on the internet.

​Web broswers can also be referred to as:

​There are many different types of web browsers.

​Can you name a few of the ones you know?

Google Chrome is one of the most popular web browsers that we use.

• It​ is also one of the fastest web browsing applications.

Microsoft Edge is one of the newest web browsers.​

• It was made specifically for Microsoft computers.

• It can be found only on Microsoft computers​.

Safari is another very popular web browser.​

• It was made specifically for Apple products such as:

  - iphones

  - Macbooks (Apple computers)

  - ipads​

  - Apple watches​

and other Apple products.

Mozilla Firefox is another very popular web browser.​

• It is one of the older web browsers but still works well today.

  ​

• It works on all computers​.

Using Search Engines

​Search engines are used to search for information on the internet.

Google Chrome Interface or homepage

When you first open the Google Chrome web browser, you will find the hompage.

• This is where the main search bar can be found.

​

The homepage can look a bit different but the search bar will usually be in the same location.

To search for information. Type into the search bar and click on the "Google Search" button or press the "Enter" key on your keyboard.

After you have either clicked the "Google Search" button or hit the "Enter" key on your keybaord, the page will be load with search results that match the information that typed into the search bar.
