​This is the number of teachers interviewed that listed STUDENT BEHAVIOR as their #1 concern.

Research shows that negative behavior of 1 student can effect the learning ability of others as well as the teachers ability to teach...

​But that is not my current research focus so I digress

CURRICULUM

-the content that is chosen by the state and the district for teachers to teach​

​Next on the list of concerns:

​

• socioeconomic status

• ​cultural background

• current location​

​

Teachers state that they feel the content we are required to teach is not relevant to our students

• Content that students struggle with get little time

• ​less complex content gets weeks

• ​district test days are set to where any deviation from the pace given will result in student inability to pass

​Teachers state that the pace at which we are to teach is not acceptable

WHY OR WHY NOT?????

The research has been done..

• Educators should be in charge of creating relevant curriculum by state

• Educators should be in charge of ways th​e curriculum should/could be implemented in the classrooms

• ​The educators in these committees should be rotated regularly (every 10 years maybe) to ensure the current trends, issues, and concerns are being addressed and adjustments to the curriculum made

lots of research- little implementation or incorrect implementation​

If we are held 100% responsible for our student learning we should be 100% in charge of what we are teaching.
