The BASICS
2
Today we will help you get familiar with some of the basic vocabulary we will use in Computer Science Activity (CSA)
Objective:
3
HARDWARE
AND
SOFTWARE
First , the Two types parts of a computer:
4
Hardware refers to the computer's tangible components or delivery systems that store and run the written instructions provided by the software.
HARDWARE
5
A piece of hardware that is extremely important.
This is the brain of your computer, telling the rest of the computer how to complete the tasks you give it.
CPU
6
Random Access Memory
RAM's purpose is to store the short-term data that a PC requires to properly operate.
If your computer is like a kitchen, think of this as the Counter. This is where you put things you need to have ready for immediate use!
RAM
7
This is the Long-term memory of your computer.
Anything saved here is saved even if you shut the computer down.
Its like a refrigerator, it keeps things stored for you until you need them, but they are not readily available like RAM
Harddrive
8
This is the name for the whole internal part of the computer.
This contains the CPU, memory, and Input/output devices. It is what lets parts of the computer talk to each other
The Motherboard

Poll
What does GIGO say about the relationship between input and output?
Your input will effect your output
If your output is not what you wanted, you probably had bad input
Be careful about what you put into your computer because you might not like the output
Don't expect a great output if you didn't take the time to have good input
