​- How many phases of the nurse-client relationship are described?

-Of the phases, list them individually.

​Introductory Phase - the period of getting aquaintted

-What problems could we face as nurses in the introductory phase of our relationship with the pt?

-Should we bring pre-conceived ideas ​about pts when entering the introductory phase of the relationship?

-After introducing yourself, what is the next step?

    -What are the communication skills that we need to have to accurately collect all ​information from our pts?

    • Active listening - Empathy - Competency - courtesy G​REET THE PT AND START OUT WITH A CERTAIN LEVEL OF RESPECT.

      • As nurses, we are usually completing the initial assessment of our pts in the admission process, other than noting the pt's chief complaint, what other form of data should we collect?

​The Working Phase

​-After letting the client state at least 1 major health concern, we should start the working phase by:

-mutually PLANNING the pt's care and implementing care strategies together.

-This is made up of multiple phases of the nursing process... what are they? ​

​-What are aspects of the SMART goals that we should be formulated with the assistance of the client? Ex: We should be working alongside them, not separate from them.

-​Understanding that during the working phase, we should be making sure that the pt is maintaining AUTONOMY. This is a HUGE part of the working phase.

​The Terminating Phase

​The period when the nurse-client relationship comes to an end.

-As nurses, we are implementing which phase of the nursing process?

-How are we going about doing this?

-We are making sure that we are not only going by data that we collected through our assessment.

-We should be talking to the pt, and MUTUALLY finding that all of the prospective outcomes are identified, and have been completed. ​

-During this phase, we are usually completing a pt's d/c from a facility ​

-What factors should we consider when completing the pt d/c?​

DISCUSS ABOUT COMMUNICATION,SPACE,AND COMMUNICATION DEFICITS ​
