• Diễn tả một hành động đang xảy ra TRONG LÚC ĐANG NÓI.

  EX: I am doing my homework now.

• Diễn tả một hành động đang xảy ra XUNG QUANH THỜI ĐIỂM HIỆN TẠI (KHÔNG XẢY RA TRONG LÚC NÓI TRONG LÚC NÓI)

  EX: I'm finding a job.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS

• Diễn tả một thói quen, một hành động xảy ra thường xuyên lặp đi lặp lại ở hiện tại.

  EX:  I do my homework every evening.

• Diễn tả một sự thật hiển nhiên (chân lý).

  EX: The sun rises in the East.

PRESENT SIMPLE

• Dùng sau câu đề nghị, mệnh lệnh

  EX: Look! The child is crying.

• Diễn tả sự việc sắp xảy ra trong tương lai theo một lịch trình cố định.

  EX: He is coming tomorrow.

• diễn tả sự không hài lòng, phàn nàn về việc gì. (thường đi với "ALWAYS")

  EX: he is always talking in class.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS

• Diễn tả lịch trình, thời gian biểu.

  EX:  The plane leaves at 13.00.

• Diễn tả suy nghĩ, cảm xúc tại thời điểm nói.

  EX: She doesn't want to do it.
