Minuend: the number you are subtracting from.

Today, we are reviewing how to add, subtract, multiply and divide integers.

Adding Integers

• When you are adding two positive integers there is an increase in value

• When you are adding a positive and a negative integer there is a decrease in value

• When you are adding a negative and a positive integer there is an increase in value

• When you are adding two negative integers there is a decrease in value

Examples:

(+2) + (+10) = +12

(+5) + (-2) = +3

(-3) + (+6) = +3

(-5) + (-6) = -11
