We use too, too much, too many and (not) enough to express quantity. Specifically to express that something is more than it is necessary.

Examples: ​This exam is too difficult => There are too many questions

​We use all these expressions according to the type of word that we are describing

Countable nouns

We use too many with countable nouns.

Examples: ​You watch too many films => Tomás drinks too many cups of coffee.

Uncountable nouns

We use too much with uncountable nouns.

Examples: ​Pedro eats too much chocolate => Ana drinks too much coffee.

Adjectives and no object

We can use too or too much with adjectives.

Examples: ​The train was too crowded today => Esteban always worries too much.

We use too much after a verb and ​when there is no object after it.

Enough

We can use enough to say that we have the right amount of something, but we use (not) enough when we have less than necessary of something.

Examples: ​We have enough eggs => We don't have enough flour.

​We use enough or (not) enough after adjectives or adverbs.

Examples: There is always enough rice here => He wasn't good enough.

​We can use enough or (not) enough after a verb without an object.

​Examples: I didn't sleep enough last night.
