Introduction ​

LI1: All of you will learn the basics of HTML and understand what it is used for

LI2: Most of you will learn the different HTML tags

LI3: Some of you will create a basic webpage​ using notepad

Starter

Read the paragraph below & memorise the defintitions you will be tested.

• ​HTML stands for Hyper text markup language - It is a computer programming language used to create webpages.

• HTML uses tags to tell the browser how the page should be displayed when opened using the internet.

• There are many different tags used in a webpage

• Tags start < tagname>

• Tags end </tagname>

Task

Create a basic web page

• ​Open notepad on your desktop

• Save the file as yourname.html

• from the drop down menu for file type when saving the file - save it as webpage or html document so you can open the document in your browser

• Use the Power-point and watch the videos if you struggle with adding any element to your webpage

• Good luck - you have fifteen minutes to create your webpage.
