“Recount” dalam kamus bahasa Inggris berati “menceritakan”, “recount text” berarti “text yang menceritakan”.

“Recount text is a text that telling the reader about one story, action or activity.”

SOCIAL FUNCTION OF RECOUNT TEXT

“The social function (purpose) of recount text is to entertain or inform the readers.”

Tujuan recount text adalah

1. untuk menghibur dan menginformasikan para pembaca.
2. menceritakn suatu pengalaman atau kejadian yang terjadi dimasa lalu dengan tujuan untuk menghibur (entertain) dan menginformasikan (inform) pembaca.

• Personal recount

  text yang berfungsi menceritakan tentang pengalaman pribadi penulis.

  text yang berfungsi menyajikan sebuah cerita imaginatif. Lalu menuliskan peristiwa atau kejadian yang telah terjadi.

GENERIC STRUCTURE OF RECOUNT TEXT

• Orientation : tell about the background information like who, when, where the activity / incident / event occurred

• Events : tell a series of events that occurred in chronological order.

• Re-orientation : the closing or conclusion of the story, we can give our opinion about the story.

LANGUAGE FEATURES OF RECOUNT TEXT
