Causes of Recession
The post-war Recession was not caused by one thing, but by several situations that together caused economic distress such as:
population increase/decrease (varied by area)
varied economic states (not everyone hit recession at the same time)
quick rise in prices
stagnant wages
consumer goods scarce - further increased prices
surge of New World wealth followed by drop in income
inability (climate, workers etc) to produce enough food - food costs rise
