Because Pure Substances are chemically uniform throughout the substance, they are represented by a chemical symbol (element) or formula (compound).
formula will have more than 1 uppercase letter since its made of more than 1 atom
Ex. (NaCl, FeO)
Represented by a symbol that consists of 1 or 2 letters
ONLY the first letter is uppercase, so an element will have only 1 uppercase letter. (Ex. He, O, Fe)
