Pada dasarnya modModal verbs adalah kata-kata yang digunakan untuk menambahkan makna dalam kalimat. Biasanya, modal verbs mengekspresikan permintaan, izin, kesediaan, kemungkinan, kemampuan, atau kekuatan untuk melakukan sesuatu.

​Jenis modals

​

Pada dasarnya modal terbagi menjadi 2 jenis yaitu present dan past tense.

Di bawah ini merupakan pemaparan dari kedua jenis modal

1.    Can ( Bisa )                                                                Could

2.   Will ( Akan )                                                               Would

3.   Shall ( Akan )                                                              Should

4.   May ( Boleh / Mungkin )                                            Might

5.   Must ( Harus / Pasti )                                                 Had to
