Definitions:

Transformation: A transformation is any type of movement we do to a geometric figure. The four transformations we are going to learn are translations, reflections rotations and dilations. When you perform a transformation, the two figures will be either congruent or similar.

Translation: A translation, or slide, is a change in the x and or y direction of the figure. Note: a change in the x direction will move you left or right. A change in the y direction will move you up or down.​
