  • Mixed numbers have a whole number and a fraction.

  • For example, the monkey ate 2 1/3 bananas.

  • That means he ate 2 whole bananas and 1/3 of another banana. He must have been hungry!

  • More examples of mixed numbers: 3 7/8, 10 1/2, 6 2/3
