Where do we shop?
We all shop to buy things to feed ourselves and live our lives.
Shopping for some of us is a leisure activity.
Shopping is a big business. It creates employment and generates a lot of income for the country.
Smaller settlements have fewer shops and larger settlements have several shopping centres. Some are built out-of-town too.
Where people choose to shop depends on what they want to buy and how often they need that product.

Different types of shopping
Corner store- This would be used for buying the ‘odd’ item. eg: Bread, milk etc.
Supermarket- This would be used for buying larger quantities . You would buy a lot of different items at one time.
Out of town shopping- This would be a big shopping centre Eg: Brookfields, Coimbatore. This would often be a day out for people.
