When we have an adjective
before a verb, we put to
between them and the verb
in the infinitive.

If we need to give a reason or explain why
we did/do something, the verb needs to be
in the infinitive with a to before it.

After Questions Words
If we use what, where, when, why,
in a sentence ( not in a question )
then the verb following it must be
after to and in the infinitive.

Also, there is a list of verbs that can be
followed by another verb. That other verb
must be in the infinitive and go after to.

Don't forget
that the verb in the infinitive is used as well when we have a modal verb or an auxiliary verb ( simple past and present ) but it is NOT followed by to.
