The environment here is forests with the Appalachian Mountains running through this region. These trap the moist air and help with the yearly rainfall.

This area also has a rocky coastline and runs along the Atlantic ​Ocean. It has a lot of natural beauty here.

The climate/weather ​here has lots of rainfall, with lots of snow in the winter.

Parts of this region can have warm summers, but not like our summers in the southeast.

Landforms like the Appalachian Mountains​ and the Atlantic Ocean impact the climate here.

Also: iron ore (used in steel production)​, corn, cranberries, blueberries, apples, and potatoes.

Mineral Resources: limestone, ​coal, oil, and natural gas.

Agriculture: milk from cows​

This region has many of country's largest cities.​
