​What is a Direct Object?

​

Direct Objects receive the action of the verb.

To find the direct object in a sentence (if it has one), go to the verb and ask yourself "Who?" or "What?"​

Find the direct object in these 2 sentences:​

​1. You all just took a quiz.

2. We admire Mr. Meeks because​ he is such a good, positive person.

​What is a Direct Object Pronoun?

​A Direct Object Pronoun will replace the direct object!

​"It" is the direct object pronoun because it replaced the words "her favorite song"

​

​"Him" is the direct object pronoun because it replaced the word "coach".
