simplifying decimal numbers

  • When working with fractions we simplify fractions. We simplify decimals too. We do this by removing any unnecessary zeros at the end. We only remove zeros at the end because the zeros do not affect the value of the decimal number.

  • This can be done to the answer after performing any operation.

    • 2.1200 = 2.12

    • 0.0100 = 0.01
