The Amazon River
The Amazon River is not only the longest
river in the world, but it is also the most
abundant. It is 7020 kilometers long.
The river originates in the Andes Mountains of Peru and travels through Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Brazil before dumping into the Atlantic Ocean. The Amazon carries a fifth of the water in the planet's rivers.

Caspian Sea
The largest lake in the world is the Caspian Sea – a name that hints at a past
when it was contiguous with the ocean around 11 million years ago.
This massive saline lake, which is nearly the same size as Japan, borders five
countries: Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Iran.
The surface area is 371,000 km² and has a maximum depth of 1,025 meters.

rises only about 2,000 m above
its base.

Located in the narrow basin of Death Valley -
around 280 feet below sea level - Furnace
Creek is enveloped by tall and steep
mountain ranges.
Furnace Creek holds the current record for
the hottest temperature ever recorded, with
average highs rising to 47°C (116.6° F) in
summer, making it the hottest place on Earth.

Oymyakon,
Russia
The coldest city on Earth. Winter
temperatures in Oymyakon, Russia,
average minus 58 degrees Fahrenheit
(minus 50 degrees Celsius). The
remote village is generally considered
the coldest inhabited area on Earth.

Angel Falls
Angel Falls is a waterfall in
Venezuela. It is the world's tallest
uninterrupted waterfall, with a
height of 979 meters (3,212 ft) and a
plunge of 807 m (2,648 ft).
The waterfall drops over the edge of
the Auyán-tepui mountain in the
Parque Nacional Canaima, a
UNESCO World Heritage site in the
Gran Sabana region of Estado
Bolívar.
