Nouns, Pronouns, Verbs, Modifiers, Conjunctions, Prepositions

​A noun is a word that refers to any one of the following items: persons, animals, plants, objects, times, places, and ideas.

Modifiers

Adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs.

Examples: The blue car ran into the red car.

The tall woman was carrying an expensive umbrella.

The farmer patiently waited for the cows.

My house was badly damaged after the storm.

Conjunctions

John and Mary are organizing a walk-a-thon.
