The summer is usually very hot and very dry. This means that it is hot outside and that there is less water. However, this is not always the case. Some places are very hot and humid. Humid means that the air is wet.

Dry means little or no water. When the weather is dry all the plants start withering and turning brown. Withering is when plants start turning brown and dying. Sometimes, especially in July and August, the weather is dry.

When the weather is humid, there is more water in the air. When it is humid, the air feels thick and wet. In the summer, it can feel very humid and hot. It gets this way in forests, rain forests, near rivers, swamps, or ponds.
