Area of a rectangle

The area of a rectangle can be found by multiplying: Area = Length x Width

---

Example: L = 2 cm W = 5 cm , then:

A = L x W

Area = 2 x 5

Area = 10 cm²

Remember: In a square all sides are equal.

So the area can be found by multiplying one side times itself:

Area = S x S

----

Example: S = 5 cm

A = S x S

A = 5 X 5

A = 25 cm²
