Aketta crickets are a complete source of cricket protein and nutrition that gives you performance and sustainability. With Aketta Crickets, you can eat meat with a lot less impact on the environment. Aketta Crickets are an excellent source of well-balanced protein and nutrients. And they have a much smaller impact on the environment and livestock. So you can feel good, and do good for the planet at the same time.

Why the name “Aketta?” We don’t eat “cow” or “pig” - we eat beef and pork. We want you to associate crickets with the word Aketta and know they are a sustainable farmed food source, not a pest or something plucked from the wild. We realize that if insects are going to be a new food source, we need new vocabulary to normalize the idea. We raise our crickets at our facility in Austin, Texas. They eat USDA certified organic feed and live in a clean, healthy environment.

What is one reason this company thinks you should eat crickets?

Crickets as protein

Crickets provide a complete protein because they contain the right balance. One serving of roasted Aketta Crickets can give you 20g of protein - compared to just 8g in beef. Aketta Crickets also give you other important nutrients like fiber, iron and calcium.

What do they taste like? Aketta Crickets are roasted to bring out a nutty flavor. They taste similar to sunflower seeds. They can also be tossed in various seasonings.

The common way to eat them is roasted, or ground up into flour. You can add them to salad or soup, as meat in tacos, or as a crunchy snake. Or put a scoop of cricket powder in your morning smoothie for extra protein!

Crickets require less food to maintain.

They also produce less gas than cows and pigs, which reduces methane that contributes to global warming!
