In this chapter, William Golding suddendly becomes obsessed with the word "ululation." You will read it 100 times today (that might be an exaggeration, but it's a lot).
"Ululation" is just a loud, high-pitched noise made with your mouth. It's how Jack's tribe calls to one another.
