•George Washington was born in
1732 and was the eldest child of
six his father Augustine.
Washington owned several farms
in Virginia and died when George
was only 11. After his fathers
death Washington inherited the
many slaves that were owned by
his father.

Battle of Saratoga

•The Battle of Saratoga occurred
between September and October,
1777, during the second year of
the American Revolution. It
included two battles, fought
eighteen days apart, and was a
decisive victory for the Continental
Army under George Washington.

•Through September 28 1781 to
October 19 1781 George
Washington and Gilbert du Motier,
Marquis de Lafayette led the
Continental army during the battle
of Yorktown which was a major
final victory for the continental
army. It occurred in Yorktown,
Virginia. Washington and his army
had captured both Cornwallis and
his army. which prompted the
British government to negotiate.
