Zander and Sons
Zaver was out on the yard, chopping wood with his dad. His father owned a wood company called Zander and Sons, even though his oldest son was only 10. Zaver was 10, and Zode was 8. Zayddie, their younger sister was 6. Despite their age, father knew that his sons would work with him when they came of age. Zode sat on the window sill, reading a book

Zander and Sons
Zode had never been too found of chopping wood. ( He was a bit clumsy with an ax) But, he knew that there was no way out of his future with his dad's company. Silly, he thought. Zode knew that dad had never really cared for him. Why di he still have to join the company? Zayddie sat by the fire, singing songs she knew. She was to young to understand Zode's sadness. If only she understood. But, she didn't have to chop wood. Zode knew he would find away out of this. He still had lots of time...

Zander and Sons
Six years had gone by. Zode was turning 14 tomorrow. Two years ago, his brother had joined his dad's company. Zode didn't want to follow the path ahead of him, but he didn't see any other option. Right now, Zode sat on a stump at the edge of their yard, the place he like to go when he was sad. My last free day, he thought. Zayddie came up behind him. " Zode?" she said
" Oh, hi Zayddie," Zode said.
" You can't join dad's company." she said.

Zander and Sons
Zander was a proud father. He had three children. He owned a wood company called Zander and Sons, even though his oldest son was only 10. Zaver was 10. Zode was 8. Zayddie was 6. His poor wife, Zadeania, had died 3 years ago. Once his sons were old enough, 14 precisely, they would join his company.

Zander and Sons
Zode sat on the window sill, reading a book and looking out the window. A blanket of snow covered the ground, yet his father and Zaver still worked. Zaver wasn't really part of the company yet, but he acted like it. Zode watched the endless pattern; swing ax, swing ax, swing ax, put wood in pile, grab another piece, repeat. Zode didn't want to join Zaver and Sons. He didn't like chopping wood, and he wasn't good with an ax. Zayddie sat by the fire, joyfully singing songs she knew. Zode didn't worry about it though. He still had lots of time...

Zander and Sons
Six years had passed by, seemingly like a hazy dream. Tomorrow, Zode was turning 14. Two years ago, Zaver had joined the company when he turned 14. Zode was sitting on a tree stump near the edge of the yard. He liked to come here when he was sad. He didn't see Zayddie as she neared him.
" Zode?" she asked.
" Oh, hi, Zayddie," he responded.
" You can't join dad's company," she said.

Zander and Sons
" Why not?" he said, pretending that he wanted to join. It wasn't working. " Because you're unhappy. Since Zaver left, he's been swarmed in work. If your gone, I'll be lonely."
" Okay, but I how do I get out of it?"
" I think you know."
She extended arm. Zode took it, and toget her they ran into the distance.
