What is it?

This type of clauses consists of two clauses: the main clause and the time clause.

Future Time Clauses

Коли речення описує дію в майбутньому, в основній частині
використовуємо майбутній час, а у підрядній - часи групи Present (Present
Simple, Present Continuous, Present Perfect), але не майбутній час!!!

I’ll text you when they inform me. – Я напишу тобі , коли вони мене

проінформують.

I’ll answer you when I’ve finished working. – Я дам відповідь тобі, коли

закінчу працювати.

I’ll call you when I’m leaving work. – Я подзвоню тобі, коли буду виходити

з роботи.

When I visit New York, I stay with my brother. – Коли я

відвідую Нью-Йорк, я зупиняюся у свого брата.

When I visit New York, I’ll stay with my brother. – Коли я

відвідаю Нью-Йорк, я зупинюсь у свого брата.

У першому реченні я говорю, що зупиняюсь у брата кожного разу,

як я відвідую Нью-Йорк. У другому реченні - я зупинюсь під час

майбутньої поїздки.

Janet will help you when you do your homework. – Дженет
допоможе тобі, коли ти будеш робити домашнє завдання.

Janet will check your homework when you’ve done it. – Дженет

перевірить твою домашню роботу, коли ти її доробиш.

Janet will explain you the grammar rules when you’re doing your

homework. – Дженет пояснить тобі граматичні правила, в той

час коли ти будеш робити домашнє завдання.

I’ll call you when I leave home. – Я зателефоную тобі, як вийду з дому.

Обидві дії можуть бути нетривалими. І є тісний взаємозв’язок між подіями.
Наприклад, людині незручно говорити вдома, хтось міг підслухати, чи
вона просто поспішала та було не до дзвінка. Або, можливо, він своїм
дзвінком попереджає, що вийшов та незабаром буде на місці зустрічі.

I’ll call you when I’m leaving home. – Я зателефоную тобі, як буду
виходити з дому.

А в цьому реченні ми підкреслюємо одночасність дій. Ми повідомляємо,
що будемо телефонувати, коли будемо зачиняти двері тощо.. Тобто друга
дія буде так само тривалою, як і сам дзвінок.

The time clauses begin with: when, whenever, while, as, since, after, before, until, as soon as, once. 

The time clause may come before or after the main clause with no change in meaning.
