Animals are made of more than one cell.

Multi-cellular

Animal cells have a nucleus and specialized organelles.

Eukaryotes

Animals cannot make their own food and eat other living things. Some eat plants. Some eat other animals. Some eat both plants and animals.

Consumers

Animals have cells that can do different jobs. 

Specialized cells

It can be divided into identical halves along any diameter, just like a circular pie.

Radial symmetry

It can be divided into identical halves just down the middle from top to bottom.

Bilateral symmetry

Lack or absence of balanced proportions between parts of a thing

Asymmetry or No symmetry

are animals that lack a backbone; make up about 95 percent of all animal species.

Invertebrates

are animals that have a backbone; only about 5 percent of animal species are vertebrates.
