Light rays come to the first reaction at the protective membrane of the eye called the cornea.

The light rays then passes through the pupil which size is controlled by the iris, the colored part of your pupil.

The light rays then passes through your convex lens where a second refraction occurs creating a real image on the back of the eye called the retina.

Rods and cones are the receptors found in the retina. Rod detect dim light and cones detect bright light. The rods and cones then send the information to the optic nerve.

The optic nerve then sends then sends these signals to the occipital lobe of the brain. The white part of your eye is called the sclera.
