​Hard rubber combs are slightly flexible and durable but can deteriorate from disinfectant

Carbon combs are antistatic, stiff, heat and chemical resistant

Graphite is less rigid than carbon - heat and chemical resistant

Metal combs retain heat to set in a style but may corrode in reaction to chemicals
