Chess Major Lesson 6: Notation
2
Pawn Notation
Notations are how to describe a chess game in written language. If a pawn was to move straight forward, the notation would look something like this: e5. Here's a fun fact: pawns can move 2 squares on their first move, so instead of e3, it could be e4, but only for the first move.
If a pawn captured another pawn, the notation may look something like these: exd5 and exf5. Having trouble? Refer to the board for help! The pawn's notation letter is... Just kidding, there is none!
