What is the purpose of persusive texts
It is a text that tries to convince the reader to believe their point of view, opinion or belief. It can be used to entertain the reader. Finally, it can be used to ask the reader to do something.

Let' look at some of the langauge features (tools) an author might use to persuade you.

Catch phrases or music
This is a quick sentence that is repeated throughout a variety of ads.
The music can be a well known popular song or something that might get stuck in your head- we call this an earworm.

Attracts attention and usually happy colours for positive things and not happy colours for negative things.

This is used to show the importance of something happening. It shows the degree of something that is certain, possible or unlikely.

Rhetorical question
These are thinking questions..... they do not require an anaswer.
It is used to make a point! stop and think!

Facts
Facts and statistics are a great way to persuade. Percentages and research make your arguments valid.
In writing you can even make them up!

Humans process thing in patterns.
It can help to remember things.
Using 3 adjectives can add more impact.
