Direct and Indirect Objects

An indirect object is a noun or a pronoun that comes between the verb and the direct object. An indirect object tells to or for whom or what the action of the verb is done.

In a sentence, a direct object is a person, place, or thing that receives the action of the verb. The direct object can be either a noun or a pronoun.
